Santa Was Early

Actually, Amazon was early. And didn't feel the need to put my Christmas present from Scott in a brown cardboard box, so when I answered the door yesterday afternoon, there was the UPS guy with my gift. (Thank goodness it wasn't one of the kids' presents, AMAZON.)

I'll miss having something to open on Christmas, but I'll dry my tears while I get started on Christmas baking:

What do you like to make with your mixer?

  3. I like to make all kinds of imaginary treats, since I don't own a cool mixer. :(

  4. Things that need to be whipped for a long time are particularly satisfying to make with the stand mixer. Think shortbreads, meringues, etc. But, everything is better with the mixer. Everything!

  5. What, you can make other things besides cookies with a mixer? That's pretty much what I use mine for... but so worth it!

  6. I love my mixer. I got mine for our bridal shower. All I need now is the new flower guard things. :) My hand mixer died a year or so ago, so it's all I use now. Enjoy it!

  10. Wow - you lucky duck! A new oven AND mixer? I guess that means you'll be doing tons of baking!

I, too, hate it when places don't box their stuff. I think it's stupid for two reasons - they blow the surprise and it also allows any people along the shipping process (or walking past the front of your house) to see what the box contains and if they want to snatch it up!

  11. I got a Kitchenaid around this time last year and I've used it weekly since then. Cookies, quick breads, muffins, and pizza dough are always whirling around.

  13. Oh my goodness! That's awesome. Just like I got last year, but I didn't get many color options to get the deal we did. Mine is a boring "meringe"...at least the name sounds inreresting.

I make everything with mine. It's super for a big batch of whipped potatoes. Mmm! Or cakes from scratch!
