Like many of you, I don't like blogging about blogging, but here is my secret blog confession:
I don't use one of them there RSS thingys yet. (GASP!) It just always seemed too burdensome. But I think now is the time because I'm missing too much that's going on. I need a tutorial, please. How do I do this?
Also, what other bloggy accessories can you not live without?

If you already have a blogger account, the most straight-forward would probably be to use Google Reader. It will use the same log-in information, etc. I think there was some kind of instructional video the first time I used it, but it is not difficult to navigate.
ReplyDeleteI use Google Reader. It's pretty self-explanatory. E-mail me if you have any questions about it.

I also use google reader. I just click from my gmail in to reader and you enter in the website addys of the blogs you like to read. They update and tell you what's out there.
ReplyDeleteThe only bad thing is that I am in the habit of reading on my reader and not going to the actual blog to comment.
Huh. I tried using my Google Reader and all I came up with was a screen that said "Google Reader." It didn't have places to add anything. I'll have to try it again.
ReplyDeleteSaly - I am so bad about commenting as it is, this can't be any worse! :)
I use Google Reader, too. I love it! Once you have your account set up, all you have to do is go to the sites you normally read and in their address bar it will have a little orange box (that's the RSS feed thing). Click that and a page will pop up and ask you where to save it to. Then click Google Reader and voila! Once you get them all on there, read what you want and then click on the top of that section "Mark all as Read". A lot of times, if I get really behind on reading, I will go my "All Items" and hit "Mark all as Read".
ReplyDeleteAnd also, my friend, ROb has a great website with techie info like this for us non-techie people. It is called 170 spoons and can be found at - here is the post where he talks about this very thing - http://170spoons.com/setting-up-a-rss-reader-google-reader/
Have fun!
I use Bloglines, which is at http://www.bloglines.com.
ReplyDeleteI use www.bloglines.com I have my favorite blogs on there and I check it every so often to see if any new posts have popped up. That's how I saw your post today :)
ReplyDeleteI also use Bloglines. You don't want to see my list of unread posts right now. I'm a bit behind from a recent vacation!!!
ReplyDeleteOk! I will get on this!
ReplyDelete...First thing tomorrow...
The nice thing about google reader is that you can put a little box on your page of posts that you particularily liked - a nice feature.
ReplyDeleteI am afraid of doing any of this because i know that it would suck me right into the computer.
ReplyDeleteI use bloglines too. And it's great because after going a week without reading I can quickly skim and catch up on all the blogs. Like yours. :-)
