It's hard to get back into the routine after vacation, isn't it? But you all have been very inspiring with your
For the past two days, I've been digging a trench and planting forsythia bushes for privacy and to keep the kids away from our neighbor's new slice-your-fingers-open, old-school, chain-link fence.
Hopefully that row of tiny plants will look like this hedge in three years:
Now I suppose I should do something more sensible, like dishes or laundry.

We need a privacy hedge fence that will grow higher than 10" (their 6 foot fence, plus the deck the built floating above it, levetating them above our yard). Do you want to come dig a trench for that? haha I can't even wrap my attention span around what plants to buy.
ReplyDeleteI just finished dishes! Woohoo, I feel so accomplished. haha I had to set my frozen pizza timer for 16 minutes so I used the Swistle commenter advice of doing your chores for only 15 minutes during it.
Oh, and also it looks like your neighbors aren't using those 2 plant hook things - could you snag those for me?? :)
ReplyDeleteUsually my neighbor has plants hanging on those hooks. She's been away this week. I'm sure the hedge is going to be a lovely surprise for her. *cough*
ReplyDeleteYour play structure looks fun. And a forsythia hedge will be lovely when it's all grown up!
ReplyDeleteDon't you just hate neighbors? Your yard looks beautiful, though.
ReplyDeleteOh, a forsythia hedge is SO much better than a chain-link fence.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! You're making me feel lazy!
ReplyDeleteThe forsythia hedge will look great! Plus it grows fast! Too bad it wasn't your chain link fence, otherwise, you could weave ivy or some other fast growing vine through it...
ReplyDeleteWelcome back from vacation and have a good start to the school year!
I'm all for privacy! Grow bushes, grow!
ReplyDeleteI hope they grow up nice and tall and handsome like your kids are going to! :-)
ReplyDeleteOh, sigh, I just got back from vacation too and I really don't feel like doing dishes OR laundry.
ReplyDeleteIt looks nice, your hard work is paying off!
